HOW DOES IT WORK?

The MASTERGARD M6000 Immobilizer is installed by Trained and Certified Technicians. It is a fully automatic passive system that arms and disarms with a user-friendly Key Fob. It electronically cuts three vital engine circuits to prevent unauthorized movement of your vehicle.

WILL IT WORK ON MY VEHICLE?

The M6000 was specifically designed for passenger cars, light, medium and heavy-duty commercial trucks, SUV’s, and construction equipment (12v). When used on commercial trucks it also helps prevent “cargo theft”. Please Contact Us or your Mastergard Installation Facility to see if the M6000 will work on your vehicle.

HOW DO THE KEY FOBS WORK?

The MASTERGARD M6000 comes with a Red Master Key Fob and a Black User Key Fob.

The Red Master Key Fob is used during installation and for any future programming of new Black User Key Fobs. As such the Red Master Key Fob is not intended for use in your vehicle to arm/disarm your M6000. It should be kept in a safe place, not in your vehicle, for any possible future use as needed or to go with the vehicle if it is sold.

The Black User Key Fobs are used on your keychain for arming/disarming the M6000 when your vehicle is in operation or parked. They are programmed by our installers to work specifically with your M6000. The Black User Key Fob should always be kept on your person and should not be left in the vehicle with your keys or on its own. Each M6000 allows for up to four (4) Black User Transponders to be programmed with it. CAN I INSTALL IT MYSELF?

No. The MASTERGARD M6000 can only be installed by our Trained and Certified Technicians. The best product in the world can be ineffective if the installation is not done properly. Our Trained and Certified Technicians ensure that the M6000 is installed to our requirements ensuring the M6000 operates as it should. HOW LONG DOES THE INSTALL TAKE?

The M6000 installation time varies from vehicle to vehicle and technician to technician but generally the installation will take between 3 to 4 hours to complete.

CAN MASTERGARD TRAIN MY TECHNICIANS TO INSTALL THE M6000 FOR MY BUSINESS VEHICLES?

HAVE YOU EVER HAD A VEHICLE STOLEN WITH A MASTERGARD M6000?

NO! We have sold over 500,000 units and have not had one reported successful theft. The MASTERGARD M6000 Immobilizer is especially challenged to would-be thieves since each installation is customized to the vehicle being protected. The M6000 is randomly assigned a unique arming code (one of billions of code variants) specific to your M6000 unit. No one can start the vehicle without having access to your M6000 Key Fob(s).

I ALREADY HAVE A TRACKING DEVICE OR FACTORY ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM ON MY CAR, WHY SHOULD I GET THE MASTERGARD M6000 INSTALLED?

A Tracking Device or Factory Anti-theft system can be defeated in several ways including the use of a signal jammer which can be purchased online. WHAT IS THE CANADIAN AUTO THEFT DETERRENT STANDARD AND WHY DOES IT MATTER?

In an effort to reduce vehicle theft loses for consumers and the insurance industry, the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) and Underwriters’ Laboratories of Canada (ULC) developed the Canadian Standard for Automobile Theft Deterrent Equipment and Systems: Electronic Immobilization; (CAN/ULC- S.338), the first of its kind in North America and regarded as one of the best in the world. This Canadian Standard forms an integral part of the Transport Canada Standard CMVSS 114, which became law on September 01, 2007.

The Canadian standard was developed after extensive research around the world and with the support of insurance companies, automobile manufacturers, consumers, police, and security system manufacturers. The standard defines the most effective type of theft deterrent for preventing vehicle theft and calls for the use of a compliant electronic immobilizer, which activates automatically when a vehicle is shut down, and prevents it from being started and driven away. The Mastergard M6000 is one of only two (2) after-market immobilizers to be approved by the standard.

The Canadian Standard is now adopted recognized by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Transport Canada.

MY CAR WON’T START IS IT BECAUSE OF MY M6000?

Is your M6000 LED still flashing? If yes, the M6000 is still operating correctly. Please contact a mechanic or auto repair shop for other vehicle repair issues.

MY M6000 LED IS NOT FLASHING?

Your M6000 may not be operating correctly if your M6000 LED is not flashing. Please contact your Mastergard Installation Facility to help diagnose possible problems.
